Chelsea’s Guus Hiddink insists Diego Costa is no ‘idiot’ but he is playing with ‘fire’

“What we all like is that he has to play as he’s doing, with a lot of fire. We have to accept that. He knows he has to control himself, but if you’re in a very hectic situation, it’s difficult. We have examples of people going over the edge in heated situations.

“Of course, not happy and we’ll see if he gets another ban. He was not happy with that, of course. But what can I say? He desperately likes to play.

“At first, everyone wanted to get on his kiss or ‘bite’, and Barry made a very good statement by saying what had not happened. Maybe there was a little bit of searching for where we can get Diego, and that was why he was frustrated.”
