Charly Musonda says his decision to leave Chelsea on loan to join Real Betis was the right one to make for his future development.
The winger opted to make the move from Stamford Bridge to join the Spanish side in January, and he has impressed so far at Betis, scoring one goal in eight games.
The 19-year-old, who has yet to make a senior appearance for Chelsea, is highly rated and is expected to return to the club in the summer where he will hope to eventually compete for a first-team role.
However, for now, he is happy he decided to make the move to Betis, where he believes he is continuing to learn his trade and gaining valuable experience.
“I’ve always said that going to Chelsea was the most important step of my career, I’ve received incredible training there,” he said.
“I needed minutes to keep growing, so I had to leave Chelsea, and I did so at the perfect time.
“It’s going well, but I’m not surprised. This is what I expected, but I still have my feet on the ground. I face things as they come.”
