Can Newcastle produce a shock when they travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea on Sunday?

The Blues aware 3-1 victors when these teams met in the Premier League in December, but, as they say, the form guide goes out of the window in the FA Cup

However, history does not seem to favour a Magpies win.

Newcastle have been eliminated in each of their last four FA Cup fourth round ties – losing 3-0 to Oxford United last season. They are looking to reach the FA Cup fifth round for the first time since 2006.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have beaten the Magpies in five of their last six FA Cup ties, and the London side are unbeaten in their last ten FA Cup games at home.

Both managers are expected to field weakened sides, although for different reasons.

Blues boss Antonio Conte is without goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois (ankle), striker Alvaro Morata (back), and Brazilian midfielder Willian (hamstring), although Cesc Fabregas may return.

Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez, meanwhile, is set to rotate his side ahead of Wednesday’s Premier League meeting with Burnley, with the Magpies expected to focus on their fight for survival over a potential cup run.

Team news to come…
