Pepe ‘will wait until the last second’ for Real Madrid to offer him a new deal – amid talk of a move to Chelsea.
The 33-year-old is currently in the final year of his contract with the European champions and he has yet to agree fresh terms.
That has sparked rumours that he could move to Chelsea on a free next summer, with Blues boss Antonio Conte a fan of the centre-back.
Pepe, though, is remaining calm about the situation and will wait to see if Real Madrid offer him a new deal.
“I’m relaxed about it, I want to help Real Madrid, a club which I love a lot,” Pepe told Spanish TV station Antena 3.
“My time will come. I’m calm. I hope that the club calls me first to resolve the situation. I’m relaxed, the people at the club know that this is my home.
“As I have said before, I will wait until the last second for Madrid.”
