Incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte wants to lure Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal to the Premier League this summer.
The Italian will take charge at Stamford Bridge in July after Euro 2016 and is planning wholesale changes to the Chelsea squad as he looks to rebuild after a disappointing season.
Conte worked with Vidal during their time at Juventus and has made his signature one of his top priorities in the summer.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Blues will be prepared to offer Bayern £32milion for the Chilean star, and a chance to work under Conte may tempt the player to leave the German giants.
Vidal only joined Bayern from Juve last summer but has continued to win admirers for his robust displays as a deep-lying midfielder in the Bundesliga.
Conte has kept a close eye on his former player’s progress and it is understood the Italian has told Chelsea’s directors to make contact with Bayern over Vidal’s availability before the transfer window opens.
