Unsettled Chelsea striker Diego Costa is being lined up by Paris Saint-Germain to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the summer.
Ibrahimovic’s contract at the Parc des Princes expires at the end of the season and the Swede is being linked with a number of other top European clubs, including the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United.
Despite being their leading scorer, Costa has suffered a difficult second season at Chelsea after he apparently fell out with former manager Jose Mourinho before getting himself into disciplinary trouble with the FA for his spat with Everton’s Gareth Barry in an FA Cup tie last month – he has since been handed a two-game ban.
Now, according to France Football, Chelsea will consider selling Costa to PSG if they receive a bid in the similar region to the £32m they paid Atletico Madrid for the Spaniard in 2014.
And former Chelsea defender David Luiz, who himself made the switch from Stamford Bridge to Paris in 2014, insists the Spaniard would be an excellent addition to Laurent Blanc’s squad.
He said: “If Diego decides he has had enough of England, of course it would be welcome here.”
