Guus Hiddink has cooled talk linking Thibaut Courtois with a move away from Chelsea in the summer.
Last week the Belgian goalkeeper refused to commit his future to the club beyond the end of the season, sparking rumours over a possible big-money move to Real Madrid.
But Hiddink suggested on Friday that he has received no indication from Courtois about any intention to leave and insisted the 23-year-old is happy with life in London.
“Formally, he’s under contract,” the Dutch boss said. “What I know from him, and his family, is that he is happy to be in London and at the club.
“It’s difficult to react on what has been said or has been translated or mis-translated.
“I’d like to talk to him. But I don’t want to overvalue it [his comments].”
