Chelsea’s hopes of signing Antonio Candreva have been boosted by Inter Milan’s failure to meet the winger’s asking price.
The Italy international is ready to leave Lazio this summer after spending five seasons in the Italian capital.
Inter Milan were thought to be the frontrunners to land the 29-year-old after Napoli had a £20m bid accepted but failed to agree personal terms.
However, according to reports in Italy, Inter are struggling to meet Lazio’s valuation for the player.
They are currently offering £16m, which is around £4m less than Lazio were hoping to recoup.
The news will be music to Chelsea’s ears, who are still in the hunt to sign the Italian after holding talks with his agent.
