Chelsea will step up their pursuit of Paul Pogba if they hire Antonio Conte as their next manager.
The Italy boss is now the firm favourite to become Jose Mourinho’s permanent successor next season, with an official announcement expected to be made in the coming weeks.
And according to Tuttosport, Conte wants to make Pogba his first signing as the Blues’ new manager.
Chelsea have been linked with the Juventus midfielder in the past, but face competition from Manchester City and Barcelona.
Juve are desperate to keep hold of their prized asset but may be tempted into selling the 22-year-old if they receive a huge offer from a Premier League club.
Conte, who worked with Pogba for two years during his time in charge of the Old Lady, is keen on landing the French star, which he hopes in turn will attract further big names to Stamford Bridge.
