It’s been a long wait Chelsea fans, but now, for the first time since March, the Blues will play a truly competitive game again.
Although that famous 2-2 draw against Spurs in May was far from a relaxed affair, it’s been five months since Chelsea were knocked out of both the Champions League and FA Cup in the same week, leaving them with nothing left to play for in the 2015/16 season.
It’s finally time for the Blues to begin putting the many ghosts of last season to rest and they can start with a win in tonight’s London derby at home to West Ham.
Antonio Conte’s Premier League debut should answer many questions about how his side are going to line up during his time at Stamford Bridge. Will it be the 4-2-4 formation with Costa and Batshuayi starting together up front, or will we see a more conventional 4-3-3 side with solidity in defensive midfield and Diego Costa on his own up top?
