Chelsea team news: Guus Hiddink must decide on Diego Costa and John Terry replacement – Predicted XI for Liverpool clash

11 May

Chelsea face Liverpool on Wednesday evening knowing that a win will ensure a top-half finish for the season.

The Blues are only one place below Jurgen Klopp’s side in the table but cannot catch the Reds in eighth place.

The game at Anfield is Guus Hiddink’s penultimate game as interim manager ahead of his final bow at home to Leicester City on Sunday.

One man who has similar taken his final bow for Chelsea is captain John Terry, who is suspended for the final two games of the season following his sending off against Sunderland last weekend.

Diego Costa is also not expected to feature again this season after it was confirmed that the Spaniard had suffered a hamstring injury.

Pedro has a broken nose but could follow the lead of other Blues players this season and play in a protective mask.

The two absentees give Hiddink an opportunity to hand some of the fringe players a run out in what is essentially a dead-rubber for both sides.
