Chelsea star opens up on ‘strange’ atmosphere at Villa Park: I’ve never seen it before

Villa are, quite simply, embarrassing. Caretaker boss Eric Black was powerless to stop them slipping to a seventh successive defeat.

He’s also powerless to protect players from getting dog’s abuse from the fans. And why should he? Supporters help pay player’s wages and they’ve had enough.

Black said: “We’ve not got automatic replacements. But they’re professional football players, they’re paid to play and you can’t protect them out there. They have to deal with it.”

Guus Hiddink wants Miazga to get streetwise, saying: “He is coming from a league where it is a bit naive and he has to leave that naivety behind as soon as possible.”

Wise-old owl Hiddink probably realised throwing him in against Villa would ensure that lack of experience was never going to be exposed.
