Chelsea have announced the signing of Michy Batshuayi for an undisclosed fee from Marseille.
Batshuayi revealed on Saturday night that he would be leaving the French outfit and a deal to join the Blues has now been confirmed in less than 24 hours.
The Belgium international was a part of the national team that got knocked out of Euro 2016 in the quarter-finals by Wales and he did score in the 4-0 demolition of Hungary in the last-16.
He is now set to get his first taste of Premier League football, having spent time in France and Belgium so far, after putting pen-to-paper on a five-year contract.
The 22-year-old, who scored 17 goals in 36 Ligue 1 appearances last season, is looking forward to getting started and joining up with compatriots Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois.
“I am delighted to sign for one of the biggest clubs in Europe and embark on the next chapter in my career,” he told the club’s official website. “I hope I can help Chelsea win many trophies during my time at Stamford Bridge.”
