Chelsea are reportedly planning to reignite their interest in Everton defender John Stones this summer after missing out last year.
The Stamford Bridge side had a number of bids for the defender rejected by Everton last summer in a lengthy transfer saga.
Stones, 21, saw a transfer request snubbed by the Goodison Park club and it is understood that Everton hope to tie him down to a new deal, with the centre-half’s current contract set to expire in 2019.
Chelsea, however, believe Everton may have softened their stance ahead of the summer transfer window and are planning a fresh swoop for the England international.
The Londoners will face competition for Stones as both Manchester clubs are said to be keen, although Barcelona are understood to have turned their attentions to other targets in recent months.
The Daily Mirror say Chelsea are planning to include one of their young stars on loan as part of an improved bid for Stones this summer.
