“I said yes, course. He was a legend asking me and he wanted to be out of hours, when the boys were either not here or gone.

“I said, no, no. You are one of this family and we would love you to come when everyone is here.

“The youngsters loved it. They can learn a lot from him and can accelerate their careers by having an eye on someone big like Lampard.”

Hiddink also revealed he has had discussions over staying at Stamford Bridge despite Antonio Conte replacing him at the end of the season.

He added: “We have talked about this and the problem of ageing,” he added.
