Real sold Morata to the Italian champions back in 2014, but insisted on a buy-back clause which allowed them to have first refusal if they paid £23.6million.

The Spanish giants are now set to activate that clause before immediately selling him on for a mammoth profit, with both Chelsea and Arsenal thought to be keen.

Real will ask for over £40million for the striker, who bagged 7 goals and provided 8 assists in Serie A this season, and reports claim that the Gunners are willing to match it.

Arsene Wenger is desperate to land a top quality striker to boost their title chances next season, but he will face competition from new Blues boss Antonio Conte.

The Italian is on the look out for a new striker and will also be willing to match the valuation, meaning it will be left to the player himself to decide where he plays his football next season.
