Chelsea FC transfer report: Blues could turn to Romelu Lukaku after £62m bid for Alvaro Morata rejected

Chelsea are considering a bid to re-sign Romelu Lukaku after failing with a move for Alvaro Morata, according to reports.

Antonio Conte already has Diego Costa and Michy Batshuayi, a £33m signing earlier this summer, in his striking ranks.

But the Italian is keen to further strengthen his attacking department and is the lookout for another top-class forward.

Conte had made Morata his top target but Real Madrid are understood to have rebuffed a £62million offer from the Premier League side for the young striker.

Now Chelsea could turn their attention to Everton’s Lukaku.

The Blues sold the powerful hitman to Everton in 2014 for £28m after he enjoyed a succesful loan spell with the Merseyside club.

He has been a big hit at Goodison Park, scoring 61 goals in 127 appearances, and the 23-year-old is rated as one of the world’s best young strikers.

Now, according to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are ready to explore the possibility of re-signing their former player.
