AC Milan boss Vincenzo Montella has dismissed talk of a move for Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
The Italian club are searching for a new playmaker following the news Riccardo Montolivo will be out for at least six months after tearing his knee ligaments while on international duty last week.
Fabregas, who was linked with a loan move to Milan in the summer, has since been touted as a possible replacement.
However, Montella has ruled out any chance of a move for the Spaniard because he couldn’t fill the void left by Montolivo.
“We are looking for a player who has the characteristics of Montolivo, who can also play in a midfield two,” Montella told Corriere della Sera.
“Fabregas? He doesn’t have those particular attributes.”
