Radja Nainggolan has confirmed Chelsea have been in contact but he has indicated he intends to remain with Roma.
The attacking midfielder has revealed he held tentative talks with new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte before linking up with the Belgium squad at Euro 2016.
However, Nainggolan has told the Roma hierarchy he intends to remain with the Serie A side and Conte will have to look elsewhere to bolster his midfield options.
He said: “I said to him [Roma president James Pallotta] I love where I am playing so why not stay?”
On Chelsea’s interest, he added: “Chelsea were talking but at the moment there is nothing.
“The Premier League is a big competition, it’s lovely, but I think sometimes in life you need to make choices, and all I can say is that I am happy where I am.”
