Paris Saint-Germain’s David Luiz has returned to Chelsea in a deal believed to be worth around the £30million mark.
Luiz left the Blues back in 2014 for PSG, ending a three-year stint at Stamford Bridge, after the English club accepted a massive £50m offer from the French champions.
The Brazil international has enjoyed an impressive two seasons in Ligue 1, picking up nine pieces of silverware, but the opportunity to return back to Chelsea was too hard to refuse.
Reports claim that when the defender heard about potential interest from his former employers he made it clear to his representatives that a move back to the former Premier League champions was wanted.
Luiz has put pen-to-paper on a three-year contract and is looking forward to playing for the club once again.
He said: “I always had a wonderful relationship with the fans and I am looking forward to wearing the blue shirt at Stamford Bridge once again.”
The 29-year-old becomes the second defensive addition of the summer window, following the arrival of Marcos Alonso from Fiorentina earlier on deadline day.
