Aston Villa defender Jordan Amavi is understood to be on a shortlist of left-back targets for Ligue 1 giants Lyon this summer.
The former French champions are looking to recruit a top quality left-back to replace Cameroon international Henri Bedimo after he signalled his intention to leave when his contract expires this month.
Amavi is expected to leave Villa this summer following the club’s relegation to the Championship and the appointment of Roberto Di Matteo, who is already on the lookout for new recruits of his own.
The France Under-21 star, who picked up a bad knee injury on international duty last year, isn’t likely to be short of offers either and was linked to Liverpool by sections of the French media last week.
Lyon are watching Amavi’s situation, according to Le Progres, and will be ready to make their move for the ex-Nice star this summer.
However, they also have Palermo’s Moroccan international Ashraf Lazaar and Lille star Djibril Sidibe on a list of alternative targets for the left-back slot.
