Arsenal keeper Petr Cech has admitted Sunday’s 3-2 defeat at Man Utd was a “step back” but he says their title bid is still alive.
The Gunners were disappointing against an injury-hit United and slipped to the narrow defeat, which leaves them in third place in the Premier League – five points behind leaders Leicester.
Cech knows the result was a setback but, with two games this week to come against Swansea at home on Wednesday and then title rivals Spurs in the north London derby on Saturday, the experienced keeper says the Gunners can get back on track quickly.
“This was a big disappointment for us and is a step back after last week, where we managed to overcome a deficit against Leicester at home,” he told reporters. “This is a step back but we need to keep working.
“We have two important games coming up this week and if we manage to win both, the table might look better again.”
