West Ham striker Andy Carroll has not given up hope of being involved with Roy Hodgson’s England in the Euro 2016 finals this summer.
Hodgson was on hand to watch the FA Cup quarter-final between the Hammers and Manchester United at Old Trafford and will name his squad this week for the upcoming friendlies against Germany and Holland.
Carroll has fought his way back from injury problems at the club and his dominance over United’s defenders will not have gone unnoticed by Hodgson.
He told Standard Sport: “I have three things to aim with the club pushing for top four, the FA Cup Final and making the England squad.
“I have great memories of Euro 2012 and would love to be there again.
“My love for my country is never going to go away. Hopefully, I will stay fit, keep playing, score goals and I will get a chance to go.”
