Liverpool midfielder Emre Can insists he will work hard to return to full fitness as he looks to represent Germany at Euro 2016.
Can suffered an ankle injury in the dramatic 4-3 triumph over Borussia Dortmund at Anfield last week.
The 22-year-old has been ruled out for around four weeks and is expected to miss the Europa League semi-final clash with Villarreal at the end of April.
However, if the Reds progress he will have a chance of being fit in time for the final at St Jakob-Park in Basel on May 18.
The Germany international, who has five caps for the national side, believes he can work his way back ahead of the summer trip to France.
Can said: “I am a fighter and wonÂ’t let anything get me down.
“I will give everything to try and be fit in time for the Euros and I am optimistic about achieving my goal.”
