Swansea are among the clubs chasing former Juventus defender Martin Caceres, who is available on a free transfer.
The Uruguay international is currently without a club after he was released by Juventus at the end of last season, and Swansea could offer him a deal at the Liberty Stadium.
Francesco Guidolin drafted in Alfie Mawson from Barnsley just before the transfer deadline, but the Swans boss still needs more experience at the back following the departure of Ashley Williams to Everton.
Reports claim Caceres is also attracting interest from Chelsea, Sunderland and West Brom as a number of Premier League clubs look to snap up the experienced 29-year-old.
He won three Serie A titles during his time in Turin and played under new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte – who could hold the key to where he ends up this season.
Reports claim Caceres will arrive in England later this month to discuss terms with the clubs that are showing an interest, and the Swans could be heading the queue.
