Former West Brom attacking midfielder Stephane Sessegnon is on the verge of joining Burnley, according to reports.
Sessegnon, who spent five seasons in the Premier League with the Baggies and Sunderland, has been without a club since leaving the Hawthorns at the end of May.
Montpellier looked favourites to sign the 32-year-old but the Benin international is reportedly set to snub their interest in favour of a move back to the Premier League.
Sessegnon passed a medical and agreed a two-year contract with the Ligue 1 side before pulling out of the deal when he was made aware of Burnley’s interest.
The Clarets, according to L’Equipe, are said to be in advanced negotiations with the player ahead of a possible move to Turf Moor.
