BREAKING: Plane forced to return to UK airport after ‘bangs and smoke’ coming from engine

The Cyprus-bound flight was diverted back to the airport it had just left, Birmingham, after problems occurred during take-off.

Two loud bangs and smoke reportedly came from the engine of the Thomson flight, bound for Paphos.
