The Argentine has turned the club into title challengers inside just two years and Spurs chief Daniel Levy is anxious to ensure he is not poached away by any jealous rivals.

The former Southampton boss still has two years to tun on his present deal, which is said to be worth £2m a year, but Levy wants to get him signed up to an improved deal as quickly as possible.

Talks have already started apparently but the club do not want to rock the boat in the title run in so will wait until the summer to conclude them, although it will be one of the first things on their agenda.
