Leicester City have stolen the headlines following their remarkable push for the title, West Ham are in contention for a Champions League place, while Watford and Crystal Palace have made the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

It means that not many outside of the Potteries have given Hughes’ side the credit they deserve this season, but the Stoke chief believes that can weigh in their favour.

Stoke are right in the hunt for a Europa League place following Saturday’s win at Watford and Hughes is happy for his side to go quietly about their business.

“Nobody mentions us, but maybe we don’t mind that,” he said. “We are a little bit under the radar and we just get on with it. Sometimes people get ahead of themselves, people start saying nice things about you and you start believing it.

“Very few people actually…but we just get on with it. We like to be judged at the end of the season.”
