Slaven Bilic has denied that West Ham have made a huge bid to try and sign prolific Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi.
The Hammers’ chief used his press conference in the build up to Saturday’s visit of Swansea to Upton Park to dismiss reports that he was plotting a £20million swoop to snap up the Belgium international.
The 22-year-old has scored 21 goals and provided 10 assists in 48 matches in all competitions this season which has resulted in intense speculation linking him with a move to England.
However, Bilic insists that there has been no offer from West Ham for his signature.
He said: “HeÂ’s playing for Marseille, big club, scoring goals there, very young, Belgium international, already a few years playing at the top level and scoring goals for first Standard Liege and now Marseille.
“He’s a very good player but I can say at this moment this offer is simply not true, like what is in the papers.”
