Mauricio Pochettino says Tottenham are still firmly in the title race and has called on his players to carry on believing.
Heading into Saturday’s clash at Liverpool, Spurs could have trimmed the deficit at the top of the Premier League table to just two points as Leicester face Southampton today, but had to settle for a point in a 1-1 draw.
Claudio Ranieri’s side can end the weekend seven points clear with only half a dozen games remaining, but Pochettino has called on his players to keep believing they can win the title.
Asked how he views the title race now, Pochettino said: “We have six games ahead and we need to believe. In football all can happen. It was difficult to come here and try and win the three points but we were calm and we believe in our quality.
“We feel a little bit disappointed for dropping two points but we need belief and be ready for the next game which will be a tough game against Manchester United.”
It could have been worse for Spurs had Harry Kane not struck in the 63rd minute to cancel out Philippe Coutinho’s strike for the home side 12 minutes earlier.
