Alan Pardew says Yannick Bolasie is still a Crystal Palace player and does not expect him to leave before the weekend.
The Eagles winger looks to be on his way to Premier League rivals Everton in a deal totalling £30million but Pardew says it is far from being a done deal.
Pardew did not rule out the possibility of Bolasie moving to Goodison Park in the near future but did confirm a deal will not happen before the new Premier League season starts.
“We’ve got nothing concrete to announce today, other than a lot of rumours,” Pardew said. “There’s nothing that’s going to happen before the weekend. Yannick is contracted here. He’s a great player and a great person, I love him. We’ll treat him with the utmost respect in any situation.
“There’s only one way for us and that’s to improve and get better. Change is good. This is going to be a team in transition this season. We’ve added three players who I think will take us forward and we will hopefully bring in two more.
“We want to take the club forward in a manner where we don’t lose the spirit and the soul of this football club. This club has grown massively. We’re in unprecedented territory – our fourth year in the top division. Without having a transfer out, I would expect us to add two more players.”
