Antonio Conte has played down reports suggesting he is trying to bring Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata to Chelsea.
Morata has been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu ever since the Spanish giants brought him back from Juventus and Chelsea are thought to be in the hunt.
Madrid exercised their buy-back clause earlier this summer but reports suggest he will be sold for more money to another European giant.
Conte, who signed Mortata when he was Juventus coach, is expected to make another bid but he refused to discuss any potential deal on Wednesday.
Speaking after his team’s 3-0 win over RZ Pellets WAC, he said: “About this situation I always prefer to speak with the club. We know our targets and the most important thing is there is a great synergy between me and the club on the transfer market.
“It’s not important to speak outside, but to keep the secret is very important at this moment.”
The news comes as doubts surround the future of Diego Costa, and any move for Morata will add further fuel to the fire.
