The German will get his first real opportunity to revamp the squad he inherited from Brendan Rodgers in the summer, and already a host of top class players are being linked with moves to Anfield.

Klopp would gladly take any money that is made available, but as he prepares to face Manchester City in the Capital One Cup Final today, he insists there is more than one way to skin a cat.

The Reds boss will no doubt make chances to his squad with players coming and going, but he insists you do not need to spend millions to do so.

“I am patient enough. I would like to win every game and I am really, really, really disappointed after a defeat,” he said. “But next morning the sun shines again. You have the chance to use it, this defeat and that’s what I love in this job.

“It’s not about transfers. Right player, big money, I don’t care. If we have it take it, use it. If we don’t have it, don’t say we have not enough money. Try a different way. That’s all.”
