Borussia Monchengladbach chief says club will ‘fight’ to keep hold of Arsenal target Granit Xhaka

Borussia Monchengladbach director of sport Max Eberl insists the club will fight to keep hold of Arsenal target Granit Xhaka.

The midfielder is being heavily linked with a move to the Emirates this summer.

Arsenal have reportedly watched the Switzerland international on several occasions and scouts have returned with positive reports.

Arsene Wenger is now eager to complete a deal, but Eberl is adamant that Borussia Monchengladbach will try to keep their captain.

“We will fight for Granit,” Eberl told Kicker.

“There are clubs who can offer an even bigger chance of playing Champions League and competing for titles and trophies.”
