Chelsea have been alerted to the news Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels admits he could soon be on the move.
The 27-year-old has been at Signal Iduna Park since 2009 and has played a key role as the club continue to challenge for glory both domestically and in Europe this season.
The Germany international is out of contract with BVB in the summer of 2017 and concedes that he faces a tough decision about whether to sign a new deal or seek a new challenge elsewhere.
He said: “I’m still in the process of making a decision. There are a still a lot of things that I would like to do. One of those is to stay in Dortmund in order to continue with what we’re building a little longer, but I also know that it’s a decision over a long-term contract.”
The former Bayern Munich player believes that his next move could be the last big switch of his career and he wants to make the right decision.
He added: “I’m no longer in my early 20s after all. I’m not dragging out the decision artificially. I’m just thinking about it a lot.”
Chelsea are on the look out for John Terry’s replacement, and although John Stones of Everton remains a top target, Hummels is also high on the club’s wanted list.
