Chelsea striker Diego Costa is pushing for a return to Spain with former club Atletico Madrid, reports have claimed.
Costa got off to a flying start following his £32million switch from Atletico two years ago and his goals helped fire Chelsea to the Premier League title.
However, in what was a difficult season for all concerned at Stamford Bridge, Costa struggled to reach the same heights in the last campaign and reports are rife he wants out.
Atletico coach Diego Simeone has been promised a large transfer kitty after deciding to stay at the Vicente Calderon, and he wants to spend a chunk of it on Costa.
Reports in the Spanish press suggest that Costa is also pushing for a return and has instructed his agent Jorge Mendes to try and engineer the move.
Chelsea are currently in the hunt for a new striker but will need two if they decide to cash in on the Spain international, who also had one or two disciplinary issues in what turned out to be a very frustrating season.
