Gary Bowyer has been appointed as Blackpool’s new manager, the club have announced.
The former Blackburn boss arrives at Bloomfield Road on a one-year rolling contract as the Tangerines look to bounce back following relegation from Sky Bet League One.
He replaces Neil McDonald, who parted company with the Lancashire club last month.
A statement on the club’s website read: “Blackpool Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Gary Bowyer as manager on a one-year rolling deal.”
Bowyer has been out of work since leaving Ewood Park last November.
The 44-year-old led Rovers to eighth and ninth-place finishes in the Sky Bet Championship during his two full seasons in charge.
