Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce believes his side now have the self belief to go on and win their battle to avoid the drop.
The Black Cats boss is hoping his side can keep their momentum going this weekend when they face Stoke who appear to have ended their season early having shipped 12 goals in their last three games.
Sunderland’s draw with Arsenal has seen them jump out of the relegation spots and Allardyce is hoping they can remain in fourth-bottom spot by inflicting defeat on the Potters, for which they are currently priced at 17/10 with Titanbet.
“The challenge to the players is to stay out the bottom three by going to Stoke and trying to get a win,” Allardyce told the Gazette.
“Can we stay out the bottom three by winning at Stoke and taking it from there?
“It’s always a big ask to go away from home in the Premier League and win when you’re fighting against relegation.
“But our performances are good – very good at Norwich and again against Arsenal.
“Hopefully we can keep that up and get enough points to stay out of trouble.”
