Sunderland are close to agreeing a deal to bring Yann M’Vila to the club on a full-time basis after lengthy discussions.
The midfielder has been one of the Black Cats’ main targets all summer but his current club Rubin Kazan have been reluctant to do any kind of deal even though he only has six months left on his contract in Russia.
There is also a problem over wages as he is said to be on in the region of £100,000-a-week in Russia, although he is ready to take a pay cut in order to come back to the Stadium of Light where he was such a success last season whilst on loan.
Talks between the two clubs over a fee for the 26-year-old appear to be close in on a conclusion and new boss David Moyes looks likely to get a man he first wanted when he was in charge at Everton.
