Sunderland defender Sebastian Coates looks set to make his loan move to Sporting Lisbon a permanent transfer in the summer.
The 25-year-old moved on loan to the Portuguese giants back in January and he has been earning rave reviews ever since as Lisbon close in on the title, they sit in second place in the league two points behind Benfica.
When asked about his future the former Liverpool defender said he would be open to a permanent move but was concentrating on his football for now.
“What I can say is that I’m very happy here,” he said.
“I found a club that has the ambition to win the championship, to qualify for the Champions League.
“Personally I am very happy, we’ll see.”
When pressed on if he had to make a decision to stay, Coates added: “I’d say yes, of course!
“For everything. Besides, my family is already adapted to Lisbon.”
