Besiktas have said they’re “not interested” in Mario Balotelli following earlier reports the Liverpool striker was set to join them.
The Italian, who spent last season on loan at AC Milan, does not appear to have any future at Liverpool with boss Jurgen Klopp expected to offload the former Manchester City man this summer – if there are any takers.
Milan were tipped at one point to try and sign the 25-year-old on a permanent basis but they have apparently now decided against it and his agent, Mino Raiola, is looking for a new club for his client.
However, that is proving problematic as the striker’s reputation is not great and now Turkish side Besiktas, who were thought to be close to signing him, have said they do not want Balotelli either.
Sporting director Erdal Torunogullari has been quoted in the Daily Mirror saying: “We know Raiola well. He’s even said Balotelli will go to Besiktas, but it’s not like that.
“We’re not interested, our priority is to hold on to Mario Gomez.”
