Crystal Palace forward Christian Benteke insists he is determined to repay club chairman Steve Parish for his support this summer.
Parish allowed boss Alan Pardew to spend big to bring in Benteke, with the club paying £32million to secure his services from Liverpool.
He had made a steady start to life at the Eagles, scoring his second goal in Saturday’s 3-2 win away at Sunderland.
Palace came back from 2-0 down to secure the win but Benteke is already determined to repay the club for their support.
The Belgium international told the club’s official website: “The manager and chairman did everything to bring me here and therefore I have to give them something back, and the best way of doing that is to do my best and by scoring goals.
“Today was a successful one for me and the team. Since the draw against Bournemouth, we have shown what we are about, but we must continue to do that.
“Today showed why English football is the best league in the world because from the first minute to the last, everything is possible and we go away with all three points.”
