Crystal Palace have been told they will have to pay £30million to have a chance of signing Liverpool striker Christian Benteke.
Benteke only joined the Reds from Aston Villa last summer, but failed to live up to his mammoth price tag and looks to be heading for a sharp exit.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp does not appear to rate the striker and will be happy to cash in and use the money to bring in his own targets over the close season.
Palace have entered the running for Benteke’s signature as boss Alan Pardew looks to add goals to a squad that struggled to find the back of the net last season, but he will not come cheap.
Liverpool are well aware that Palace bid over £30million for Belgium forward Michy Batshuayi and have slapped a similar price tag on the head of his fellow countryman.
Palace will recoup some cash from the imminent sale of Dwight Gayle to Newcastle and could use it to fund a deal for Benteke.
