New Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke admits he was delighted to play 90 minutes for the first time since May on Saturday.
The Belgian was given a rare start as he made his league debut for the Eagles during the 1-1 draw against Bournemouth.
He became Palace’s club record signing last week after joining for £27million from Liverpool and he has now played his part in two matches.
Pardew decided to bring him off in midweek in the EFL Cup win over Blackpool but Benteke was given the full 90 minutes on Saturday.
The former Aston Villa man had lost some of his match sharpness after failing to impress Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp but he admitted he was really happy to play the full game.
He told Palace’s website: “I had the chance to play 90 minutes and I felt a little bit tired at the end, but I’m now closer to my best, so I’m really happy.
“Of course I could have done better, but it was my first full game in a long time, so I was just getting back in shape.”
