Tottenham have reportedly turned down a £10million approach from Schalke for unsettled midfielder Nabil Bentaleb.
The 21-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at White Hart Lane under manager Mauricio Pochettino, with Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and new signing Victor Wanyama all ahead of him.
Spurs will allow the youngster to move on but have placed a £15million price on his head and, as things stand, they are unwilling to lower that figure.
German side Schalke, who have money to spend following the £37million sale of winger Leroy Sane to Manchester City earlier this month, are interested in Bentaleb but must raise their offer in order to land him.
The Algeria international has also been linked with clubs in Italy and France and his future does appear to lie away from Spurs, with a move before the transfer window closes a real possibility.
