Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez is reportedly keen on bringing in Rangers director of recruitment Frank McParland.
McParland has previously worked with Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez during his time at Liverpool and the Spaniard is eager to secure a reunion.
He is credited with taking Raheem Sterling and Jordan Ibe to Anfield, while he has since gone on to enjoy spells with Brentford and Burnley before heading north of the border.
Newcastle are currently trying to convince Benitez to remain in charge next term, as they look to bounce back from the second tier at the first time of asking, and they hope the acquisition of McParland may play a key role.
The 56-year-oldÂ’s arrival at St JamesÂ’ Park would likely signal an end to Graham CarrÂ’s time at the club and provide Benitez with more opportunity to control transfer dealings.
