Norwich midfielder Jonny Howson says his side never stopped believing they could survive after an important win over West Brom.
The Canaries ended a 10-match winless run in the Premier League with a 1-0 success at The Hawthorns on Saturday, as Robbie Brady’s second-half effort proved the difference.
Howson claims Norwich remained confident throughout their barren spell and he is delighted they have managed to get back to winning ways.
“The fight, determination and work-rate is always there with us,” said the 27-year-old. “It’s just a case that it perhaps shows a bit more when you win games. To be able to go over to the fans having won was great because they’ve been there for us in recent weeks.
“We’ll just concentrate on what we do, irrespective of other teams. We’ve got a couple of weeks until the next game so it’s good to go into the break with a win.
“We need all the lads to give everything, and they’re doing that.”
Norwich are now two points clear of the drop zone and Howson hopes his side can build on their win over West Brom when the Premier League resumes after the international break.
“We maybe got what we’ve deserved,” he told Canaries TV. “Our performance was probably at a similar level to recent weeks, and we just feel like we got the rub of the green.
“We’ve got to build on this now, having built on last week very well.”
