Stoke and Newcastle are set to battle it out for the signature of Wolfsburg striker Bas Dost when the transfer window re-opens.
The Dutchman has just over 12 months remaining on his current deal and reports in Germany claim the Bundesliga side could be forced to cash in if a big enough offer is made.
The reports claim that Newcastle are in the box seat but much will depend on whether they can stay in the Premier League as the striker will not be interested in Championship football.
Stoke are also said to be in the hunt as boss Mark Hughes looks to add another striker to his ranks and he would have the finances available to lure him to the Britannia Stadium.
There are big fears in Germany that the new TV deal that comes into play next season, could see a number of top Bundesliga players follow the money to the Premier League over the summer, Dost being one of them.
