Barnsley could hand a debut to midfielder Sessi D’Almeida, who signed a two-year deal with the club on Thursday after a successful trial.

The Tykes lost their first game at Ipswich and were then beaten by League One side Northampton in the EFL Cup.

Derby are without forward Andreas Weimann (knee), although he is expected to be fit within a couple of weeks.

Full-back Marcus Olsson has returned to training and is in contention to be called into the squad.
